Any money you earn after you are married is legally shared with your husband/wife. How it is split up after the marriage is disolved often is only a reflection of how good their respective lawyers are (obviously hers are pretty good). So, if he had signed a prenup, it would have only saved him from sharing the profits he made from the Subway ads he shot that first year, right before he got married.
